I have many different slings/carriers to compare this wrap with. I like this one because of the snuggly close contact, even weight distribution and security. However, it is cumbersome to put on being that the fabric is very lengthy. It’s not as easy on and off as a sling carrier. Also, we couldn’t use this one for awhile due to hot temperatures, it’s definitely for cooler climates. Another downside in comparison to my slings is that it is not easy to go from a sleeping position to a nursing and vice versa. I definitely use my sling for nursing and this wrap if I know my baby is sleepy. It is great for that, literally within minutes of getting her in the tummy to tummy position, she is fast asleep! So overall, I recommend this wrap, but wouldn’t say it’s the only carrier you’ll need. Get a sling too!

I’ve tried more traditional baby carriers (Baby Bjorn and Snugli) and couldn’t use them for more then 20 minutes - my back would hurt terribly! Then fortunately I discovered The Ultimate Baby Wrap… it turned out to be the only baby carrier that I can use.
The Ultimate Baby Wrap distributes the baby weight evenly over your shoulders and waist. It didn’t hurt my back at all! So if you’ve had back problems with other baby carriers, you’ve got to give this one a try.

If you like “doing stuff,” you need this wrap. Things I can do while wearing this wrap: go on walks, go shopping, brush my teeth, put on makeup and do my hair, fold laundry, vacuum, read a book, eat a meal, make a beaded bracelet, work on the computer, read, take a nap (carefully), socialize comfortably at a party or restaurant, clean the kitchen, play the flute, dance, and put the baby down for a nap.
Everywhere I go, people ask me about the wrap and I can’t say enough good things about it. I see women in the mall with their enormous baby carriages and car-seats, and all I have is my baby in his wrap. I would also like to mention that it is extremely comfortable for both me and my son. Plus, it looks good. Some of my best pictures of the two of us are of him in his wrap. It is also easy to transport. Before I go shopping, I put it on, and then I put my son in it when we get to the store. It is cooler than holding him, because there can be minimal contact between us. It can also be warm for the winter because of shared body heat.
The wrap was initially a little tricky to figure out, but then I watched the DVD which was easy. I can get it on in 30 seconds, and my son tucked into it in under a minute. Moms, you may have a hard time getting your husbands to wear it, (because it is so attractive) but if you can get them to try it once they will wear it again.
