Winning Big With Bargain Stocks: How to Invest Successfully in New Issues, Warrants and Stocks of Turnaround Companies Under $10.00: Bill Mathews: Books
Editorial Reviews

From Library Journal
Over the long haul, stocks clearly outperform other investments. Some 50 million Americans own stock, 70 percent of which are losers, Mathews claims. Summarizing his own 12 general rules for success, he concisely and clearly gives an overview of intelligent stock investing. Specifically, he advises investing in quality stocks selling for under ten dollars but not under one dollar (so-called penny stocks) and only those traded on the major exchanges (pink-sheet stocks). Why under ten dollars? It allows for greater percentage moves per share on more shares bought. Finding “quality” stocks even using Mathews’s hints will not be easy. Lastly, commissions and spreads will be a greater cost at this level. Nevertheless, this book is easy to read and explains stock investing without jargon. Recommended.- Alex Wenner, Indiana Univ.
