It is interesting to have this book because I am in a practical nursing course, yet, my instructor uses this RN based textbook while we were actually required to get another one. Because she was pulling her questions and rationale from Whaley and Wong, I decided to purchase a used one to stay at her level. It is very detailed, and it may have too much information, even for an RN, however, I do appreciate the lay out of the information, diagrams, and nursing care plans that I was able to utilize. They would benefit from editing this book to just give what is needed, because you may get bored.
It may be easier to become an RN after reading this. My suggestion is to purchase a used one and keep it moving. Good for the library, it helped in my class, since my instructor insisted on using it, but a summary of the information would be better.

Sure, I understand that Pediatrics is a complex field of study, but good grief just give me a summary already. This book is undoubtedly too lengthy for my taste and should definetly undergo some serious restructuring (hence, cutting out some pages) to suit the limited amount of time the typical nursing student has to spare. Good luck if you buy it and good call if you don’t.

I have a hard time reading some books that are required in nursing school. However this book is exceptional! I loved this reader friendly textbook. It is very easy to understand. I wish more of my books were like this one. Thank you Donna Wong.
